  • Having gone through the SMP scalp micropigmentation procedure myself, I honestly think it doesn’t hurt. However, pain threshold varies from person to person, and it can be subjective. Some clients experience some discomfort in particular areas of thinner scalps and scar tissue. Therefore, we recommend our clients to moisturise their scalp to soften the skin every day for at least 3-4 days before the SMP procedure to ensure a painless experience.

  • Unfortunately, we can’t say whether or not our tattoos meet your religious requirements as we don’t have enough experience/knowledge to verify that they are halal (permissible) under Islamic Law. However, we are aware that having a skin tattoo is strictly prohibited in Islamic law. Although, some of our Muslim clients believe it is permissible because it gives them their natural appearance back. Therefore, we recommend researching this subject prior to making a confirmed booking with us. This will ensure that you are satisfied to proceed with the booking.

  • SMP Immediate Aftercare

    •⁠ ⁠Don’t touch, scratch, rub, or pick the treated area.

    •⁠ ⁠Avoid exercise, sweating, swimming, saunas, and steam rooms.

    •⁠ ⁠Avoid tight hats/helmets and unnecessary friction.

    •⁠ ⁠Don’t apply products unless recommended by your practitioner.

    •⁠ ⁠After the advised period, wash gently with a mild shampoo—no scrubbing.

    •⁠ ⁠Once healed, use SPF 30–50+ to help prevent fading.

    •⁠ ⁠Follow your practitioner’s specific aftercare instructions as the priority.

  • The results are permanent. Some clients prefer a touch-up every 3-4 years to keep their best look. Sometimes on some particular clients, the results can last longer. It all depends on the individual’s immune system and lifestyle. For example, someone who is not exposed to the sun frequently will be able to keep the colour longer. I’ve had a client whose SMP just started to fade after 9 years.

  • We understand sometimes people do call SMP by the name of “hair tattoo”. Technically, they are different. SMP scalp micropigmentation uses completely different equipment, needles and pigments which have no metal content, and it will not change colour. To perform SMP, the practitioner needs to be professionally trained and certified. Tattoo goes deep into the dermis, and sometimes it may cause bleeding. However, SMP scalp micropigmentation touches only the epidermis, which is the top layer of skin where there is no blood vessels or nerve endings are present.

  • Depending on the hair and skin condition, it will take up 2-3 sessions. Each session will take 3-5 hours as the pigment deposits will be meticulously put on the scalp, one drop at a time, with the shade that matches your skin tone to achieve the most natural look. The result is progressive, and it will unfold after each session. We understand it takes time and patience to sit through the procedure, but it is all worth it when you see the result.

  • To secure your booking, we require a £100 non-refundable deposit which can be followed by 2 split payments over the 2 first two SMP sessions. However, most clients pay the balance upon the first treatment.
